William Spratling is the man credited for leading the artistic silver renaissance in Mexico in the twentieth century and is commonly referred to as “The Father of Mexican Silver.” After several visits to Mexico in the early 1920s, the American architecture professor and writer relocated permanently to Mexico in 1929.
Spratling’s international connections and talent brought recognition and interest to Taxco, undoubtedly creating the framework for Taxco’s dominance in the silver world today.
The items in this category are NOT authentic or reproduction William Spratling. They are pieces purchased from the public shops of Taxco, created by skilled artisans who have been inspired by the history of Taxco’s silver jewelry renaissance.
